Differences of opinion.

There is discussion on some forums that the introduction of British bulldog by the UABA is a bad move, because it brings in all the inherent problems of that breed.
It is of my opinion that a comment like that, is unjustly categorising all British bulldogs as disasters.
We believe that there are certain lines and certain individual British bulldogs that are of better health than some lines of Aussie bulldogs, and these british are the ones that we are happily introducing into select lines of Aussies. We feel that by doing this, we will increase the number of impressive bulldogs, in this country, and whether they be British or Aussies, they will still be bulldogs, and they will still be impressive.
The UABA has always intended on trying to help revive todays Bulldogs, and bring back numbers of great looking dogs to ensure that the unique appearance and beautiful nature of the bulldog is not lost.
It is now regretful to see this project being trampled on by possibly hundreds of money hungry, fly by nighters, that have no interest in breeding to an original game plan or keeping track of the ancestry of the dogs they are producing. This is obvious in a lot of advertisements selling dogs as Aussie bulldogs, for one or two thousand dollars, and the new owners never receive a certificate of ancestry. It is disheartening to all the genuine breeders and totally destructive to the overall reputation of these dogs.
I have always respected any breeder that can continually breed high quality dogs with overall good health, because a lot of newcomers do not appreciate the difficulty in achieving and maintaining this.
Some people with very little experience, find it more interesting to target breeders for the one dog that may have a problem, and completely ignore the dozens or maybe hunreds of other top dogs that made it to the finish line. This is a sign of poor character on their behalf.
