Avignon Aussie Bulldogs

We had a GREAT day today - I counted 60 dogs in attendance which was great considering the weather was pretty bleak. We only got rained on once, so that wasn't too bad (except for my hair!). It was great to put some faces to names and see a few dogs in the flesh that I'd only seen in pics before. It was fantastic having Tina down to visit us - a big thanks to her for making the trip - I'm sure she's done a much better job at pics than I have. I'm pretty sure I've got pics of almost all dogs except 1 - and I almost forgot to take one of my own dog, oops...

Also a huge thanks to Sue, Darren, Tam and Dean for making the day possible and Lisa and Stu for their sensational job on the BBQ once again (it wouldn't be a Fun Day without you guys!).

We made some great profits for the club via the raffle and BBQ and it was terrific to see so many non-bulldog owners who came to check out the breed.

they all look outstanding I think there a bit better than my piccies beings my 7 yr old son took some of the ground half of peoples heads,

Hi Guys,

Thanks for a wonderful day, fantastic turn out. Merissa we had about 60 plus people there so the dog numbers would have been larger considering most have more then one dog.

Considering it starting raining on us, the turn out was great.

Thanks to Lisa & Stu - you guys do such a great job with the bbq we can't thank you enough and please thank your girls they did a good job selling them.

Thanks to Merissa - you help heaps today, taking photos and details down gave me spare time to chat and enjoy myself more, thank you so much. Plus not forgetting the donations you got for the raffles.

Thanks to Darren & Sue - once again busy selling merchandise promoting the breed and the raffles again.

Thanks to Tina - for making the big trip, (you could have left the crap weather in QLD Wink

Hi everyone! Thanks so much to all those who made the fun day possible! I thoroughly enjoyed myself it was just amazing to see such a great turn out and so many fabulous looking Aussies! I had a few moments where I just had to stand back and take them all in, it was truly amazing Very Happy

Hi guys, well to say it was a great day is an understatement Smile

first of all it was great to finally meet Tina Green in person after all the phone calls we have had with Tina or Noel as we all know talking on the phone and pictures don't do people or dogs justis .
We think by the smile she had on her face all day she must of had a great time Smile

but if i had to choose a fav there would probably be at least half a dozen at no1 .im sure tina would of got some great shots and tell you all about it .

Thanks for getting some good pics of Lola - I completely forgot to get some of her! It's the first time she's been tied up for so long and the poor thing couldn't understand why she couldn't just run free like normal. She got very upset every time I kissed or cuddled another dog! She didn't want a bar of Tekken - luckily we're going AI - but she adopted Diesel pretty quickly...

Bronco was definitely the standout stud for the day, even though Tekken is still my fav - Wink

. But Wynnston, Paws Skittles, was very spunky and Duhast's Diesel is most definitely everyone's new favourite BBD (I nearly pocketed him several times!)

I thoroughly enjoyed my few days away, having time to catch up with Sue & Darren and Tam & Dean was great, your hospitality was appreciated and very much enjoyed, the days just were not long enough. Lots of early mornings and late night chats, the four days went so fast.

By Tuesday morning I was glad that I did not have to drive anywhere as I was so tired and so was Tammy. I was meant to get on the plane at 9.15 am out of Melbourne, but my flight did not leave until just after 12pm, lucky enough on a direct flight to Brisbane. I was then booked in to catch a flight to Hervey bay ex Brissy at 6pm, due to the late flight ex Melbourne I had missed the earlier connection. Virgin paid for my airfare to be transferred to Quantas in Brisbane , where I just made the Bundaberg flight by 5 mins and I got home at 2:30 pm instead of 8.30pm. The flight to Bundaberg was on a smaller plane which flew lower and I was able to take photos all the way home to Bundy, so that was an added enjoyment to end the trip. Here’s a photo coming into land over Bundy ……………………………..

It was good to see the rain go away for the fun day,it had me worried there for a bit, although by the looks of the country around Melbourne it is in great need of lots of rain, I could not believe how very dry it was.
There were some very nice Aussie Bulldogs at the fun day, noticed though a lot of males turned up for the day. The breed consistency overall was very good, which shows that the UABA breeding system is still working with grading and percentages. There were some ideal Aussies there with three dogs that really took my eye other than Sudar Bronco.

The two others were both Rocky sons. One in particular stayed in my mind for the most even well balanced male of the day, an ideal specimen of the breed and I would like to see a lot more dogs bred of this type.

Male also bred by Sudar Aussie Bulldogs ( Priscilla's brother) called "Ruffy"

The third male was a dog bred by Lisa & Stu called Snoop dog, this male I only got to view from a distance which was a shame, as Linda had gone before I had the chance to get around to her to take some photos.

I did get to take a few photos but not as many as I wanted to. I missed around about 8 other good dogs that I was hoping to get to talk to their owners and get some top shots of their Aussies.
I missed talking with Sharon from Paws, she had left before I had the chance, also missed Jessica with Bullybays pup.
I would of loved to of had longer in depth conversations with the main UABA crew but the time just flew by. It was great to meet Merissa, I look forward to future conversations with you and appreciate you giving up your spare time to help run the UABA.

One of my favorite hobbies is photography, and I know myself I have a passion for this breed and I guess it shows with the photos that I love to take of them.We have quite a large collection of photos here at home, too many actually, but all good memories Very Happy

These are the last of my photos and are only random shots to give an idea on numbers of people that showed up on the day. Jessica rang this morning and she said she took some, but will not be able to load them up for a week or so as they are moving house. There was also a lady there on sunday that had long blonde hair ,quite pretty, that was taking photos of everyones dogs. Does anyone know who she was? I know her face from emails,but can not remember her name.
I thought she owned a Warra dog? Love to see what photos she has taken as well.
