My how time has flown, they are looking just gorgeous I realy love the puppy with the white face and a brown ear and the one with the dark patch over his eye but Toffee is my favourite.

You can send her to join us anytime Wink

Have they all found new homes yet? except Toffee of course you are keeping her Sad Laughing

Well done on such a cute litter

Still trying to get them to grow Stacey. Razz
They have been bottle fed since born, and they were around 4 or 5 days early, so they are slow to catch up. Starting to get there now, and we hope to see huge improvements over the next 2 or 3 weeks.
Will probably put updated pics here in a fortnight. Rolling Eyes

Beautiful puppies. I think the little one with the eye patch is all so cute. What colour would you call that pup. Would it be sable?
Toffee is outstanding.
Was there a special reason why you had to bottle feed the pups? Just wondering for things to look out for in the future. Did mum get sick is that why she had the pups early. You must have been lucky not to loose any.
congratulations Very Happy Very Happy

To start with,
the pups were too weak to suck, and she had nipples on her like prunes.
Then when she started to produce milk, there wasn't enough to feed them.
She was a difficult female to know when she was ready to mate, and even more difficult to know when she was ready to whelp.
The early signs, were her appetite dropped right off for about 4 days, then she would try and hide under things, and dig holes and rip up blankets and paper etc. She had trouble doing a poop, and she peed a lot.She also vomitted up bial. We then noticed that the dogs were sniffing her vulvur ( Fanny) when she went to the loo, and they were all interested in it. Dogs can pick up on the smell of new born pups, and are always curious.
So we took a calculated punt, and did a ceasarean, finding out that the pups were born 4 to 5 days early, but would have died within hours, if we had not done a C section.
Their skin is like glad wrap, very thin and raw looking. They will bruise easily, and can bleed just from drying them off with a towel.
And yet Snoopy is the healthiest most agile bitch here, with an excellent temperament, but just not a great breeder.

P.S. I can nearly guarantee you, this is one of the main reasons a lot of people give up breeding dogs. Too Hard Exclamation

Thanks, that was interesting reading. Those pups must be little battlers and a lot of hard work on your part to save them.
I can see why people can be disheartened. Breeding is not always profitable and a lot of the time you spend more money than what you make on a litter.
I guess thats why it's good to have a breeding program with a few different lines to help balance things up when things don't go to plan.

They are all going well now.
A little bit smaller than usual, but bouncy little fellas.
Snoopy is powering on. She still visits puppies and has a bit of lay with them. They have a bit of a nibble on her leathery old boobs. Rolling Eyes
